Black Ash Workshop 2016
On March 19th, 2016 Mi’kmaw Community members from all over Nova Scotia gathered at the Millbrook Cultural and Heritage Center in Millbrook First Nation to share stories, learn about Black Ash and provide feedback on the Black Ash species at risk recovery website, wisqoq.ca. Many wonderful stories were shared by the almost 30 participants who attended the event. Anthony King, Forestry Stewardship Officer from Mi’kmawey Forestry led the discussions and presented on the many aspects of Black Ash that are incorporated in the website. Overall everyone had a great time, learned a lot and even got to leave with their very own baskets!
